My third measured normally then all of a sudden dropped to two weeks behind and fundal height was three weeks behind. She was borderline IUGR and I was put on bed rest along with the same recommendations you were given. We did NST every visit. She came out my heaviest baby, 7 lbs 6oz, and longest 21 in tied with my first. She is perfectly happy and healthy, but she is small. Would it help you at all to drink a lot of protein shakes? We had other complications that led to them being born at 32 weeks, but they were both 4 pounds and I was told that was a good weight for that age.

My baby is measuring 10 days small. I went to see a specialist and they changed the date from July 20 to July 30 and are going to base her measurements by that date now.
My measurements changed too. At my first scan I was measuring ahead 3 days, now almost a week. So if it helps, clearly there are going to be different growth rates for different babies and those are based on a lot of things.
I just had my scan I was measuring 6 days behind. We did IVF so I know the exact dates. I already see perinatology. My Dr said they can be ahead or behind up to 2 weeks either way. She said if you fall in that range the concern is IUGR which could mean a problem with the placenta or genetics.
Sometimes they are born early so they can thrive better outside of the uterus if they are not getting proper nutrition and oxygen from the placenta. Just hang in there try to stay positive and you will have a better answer on the next scan.

I can't remember the exact measurments and how much smaller they were, but averagely she was 3 days behind then by the 28 and 36 week scan she was was a full week over her EDD.
However she was born 8 days early so she was just a bit teeny, I have heard this is common with both sexes but seems to be more so girls from people I have spoke to. I have to agree, my girls both measured a few days smaller and the boys bigger. I know it's not always the case but it was with mine.
Oooh, now that's causing all sorts of things to float around my head!!!! My son is measuring smaller as well. They repeated it at 20 weeks and he's growing proportionately, just days behind.
He said anything more than 10 days and they start to monitor it. Also, they told me at this age, it's really hard to get an accurate weight and a mm off could mean days off. No one seems concerned.
Also, I had sever morning sickness till 18 weeks and was losing weight. I'm trying to eat eat eat now!!

Really worried me that my due date was wrong and baby would get too big etc. But when I went back to my midwife at my next appointment and talked to her about it she said that babys are just like kids out here and that they will sometimes hit a growth spurt or slow down in your case around the time of an ultrasound.
She said not to worry at all about it! Even if not, take it as easy as you can.

Some people say it does not help, but my DD gained slightly more during 2 weeks of bedrest than she did in the 2 weeks leading up to bedrest. Eat lots of protein as well as a balanced diet, of course.
Drink as much water as you can. Remember too that weight is not not the final arbiter of how IUGR babies do after birth. If your baby is still small at 24 weeks, well, she'll be 24 weeks. It is no picnic to be born then, but her lungs will probably be stronger than her 21 or 22 week-equivalent size assuming she stays 3 weeks behind might lead you to expect.
Good luck and keep us posted! I was going to suggest extra protien I am very surprised by your numbers. From what my peri explained to me, you started blood thinners too late in the pregnancy, which may be why there is trouble now. As I understand it, blood thinners should be started at week 6, because the blood vessels are infiltrating the uterus from weeks so that they can provide blood for the baby later in the pregnancy.
All of that is done then, so starting lovenox at week 15 seems well beyond the time needed. But in any case, that doesn't help now I have been on bedrest below the border of viability, so I am so sorry that you are going through that.
Also, as sometimes babies in distress cause high blood pressure and pre-eclampsia you should try to take your blood pressure now and then and watch for any swelling. I also want you to know that there have been a few people in your situation that have come on here and then left without updating anyone. I just want you to know that the people on here really do care about others and truly want to know how you are doing, be it good or bad.

If you are religious or have something to tap for inner strength I am so glad for you. I didn't and I really had no mental or emotional basis for getting through that ordeal. Don't worry about it - I was 38 weeks and measuring 32, and at 32 weeks I think I was measuring ridiculously behind. My daughter was just fine, these measurements are only estimations anyway. You'll feel better after the ultrasound, mine always showed the baby being right on track, I just had little amniotic fluid. I was measuring 24 weeks at my last appointment but I was actually 26 weeks. I have to go in for a ultrasound to check on her growth in two weeks but the doctor told me it was normal to measure that behind. I had another ultrasound yesterday and the baby measured only 6w5d should have measured 7w so we only had 4 days worth of growth in 6 days time. Any experiences would be appreciated, TIA!
I think that is very normal! Ours was the same way at 7 to 9 weeks. As long as it's not more than a week difference or there is no change at all, I think your lil' bean is just taking it's time! My first us this pregnancy was at 7 wk 3 d-but baby measured 6wk 5 days-the doc said that when things are that small a little bit of human error in measurement can happen and that can translate into days of measurements being off.
She redid the us at 9 wks 3 days and everything was measuring like it should. If things are within a weekshe said its oksaid stuff like a good HB etc was way more important. So I think it should be just fine! Good luck!
Hidden Content. Exactly what Meggy and Amber said. Mine fluctuated quite a bit early on I had several ultrasounds earlybut I don't think any more than 3 or 4 days. One time it would seem that it caught back up to where I was "supposed" to be measuring, only to be a bit behind again the next time. The docs were never worried though. I had the same explanation given to me, that early on, a tiny bit of a difference in how they measure can equal days.
Different techs have slightly different ways they'll measure too, and the same person might not do it the same every time. Remember, the doctors see this stuff all the time, and if they're not worried, you shouldn't be either!
Easier said than done, I know. I'm sure everything's fine and it will be awesome when you can hear the heart beat! TTC 2 after 55 lbs lost! It can really vary based on who is measuring and what angle they just happen to get.
